Needless to say, I love the look of the collection. The colours are perfection. (What colours? Exactly.) The clothes are a perfect match for Toronto in January. Everything is a dull- yet picturesque- mass of shivering grey and black and brownish slush.

That knight-like, pseudo-chainmail hoodie will keep my head delightfully warm.

Ugh, this collection’s aesthetic is utterly perfect to layer on my eyes and layer on myself. My only reason for not rushing to H&M right now to devour the clothes is because I feel that this collection’s look can be easily imitated (and for much cheaper) with D.I.Y. and a visit to Goodwill. And seeing H&M’s past designer collaborations, the Trish Summerville clothes will probably be cheaply made…

Isn’t sea foam so refreshing? Someone please whisk me to the Mediterranean sea. I need a vacation.

I wish I can find editorials like this everyday. Instead, I see commercial editorials with doll-models that we’ve all seen countless times in malls. I say, if all you need is the girl to wear the clothes and to look pretty, you might as well have mannequins with pouts and cheekbones! And seeing how advanced Photoshop is these days, a few clicks of a mouse can surely mould plastic to flesh. (It’s not like human models look like skin and flesh in ads, anyway.)

Alas, another year comes to a close. Browsing through these photos takes me back to all the wonderful places I’ve been to this year and to all the great people I’ve met. I’d love to see what surprises 2012 will unfold and I’m going to try to beat those 7100+ photos I’ve taken this year.  That means going out of my comfort zone to try to get creative, confident and innovative shots; learning new camera tricks; and going outside to explore more of the world around me. I guess that would be my new year’s resolution. Wish me luck!

Unfortunately, I cannot afford any of these clothes (with price-tags that don’t fall under $150, I’ll get back to these stores when I’m probably at least 25). Until then, I’ll make do with clearance American Eagle, Gap and Hollister with the occasional vintage piece. But it never hurts for a girl to dream!

I finally saw the Versace x H&M collection in stores! This is the first designer collaboration that I’ve actually seen in stores, I was too late for Lanvin.

I must say, I was surprised by how polyester everything seemed. They looked much silkier online. Is it safe to say that some clothes are on the edge of trashy? I bet 99% of the population can’t pull these off.

We walked outside and headed to wannabe-hipster-central Urban Outfitters.

That shoe honestly looked like an oil painting. Speaking of, I should probably turn my attention to my art homework…Not to worry, I’ll probably be back in front of my laptop one way or another.

SO the H&M x Versace collection arrived last Saturday. My excuse for not going? I valued my health and sanity. JUST KIDDING, it wasn’t the fear of pepper spray wielding shoppers that kept me from camping out before 9 am. I was working on my school fashion show collection with one of my best friends (which coincidentally involved “jungle”-vibes). We’ve been working together since June to sketch, buy fabrics, fit our models and now- make the clothes every weekend. I can’t wait to show you the clothes in February, after the January 31st show.

Thankfully, I wasn’t left completely in the dark. My fabulous friend UV (who I went here with) somehow got his hands on two t-shirts for only $56! Maybe he was the one with pepper spray?

He showed me his purchases. I squealed.

A fabric bag you ask? Nay, I say. A scarf!

Hopefully, there are still remnants of the collection left when I visit stores.

It’s wonderful how serene and peaceful the almost magically floating globes are. It’s so calming to browse through them.

I looked everywhere for information regarding these images, but Mr. Durant’s website is very mysterious. I suppose a magician-artist never reveals his secrets.
