Île d’Orléans

During my long weekend trip to Québec, I visited the Île d’Orléans (directly translated: Island of Orleans). My Sunday afternoon was spent driving through a quaint countryside that occasionally stank of manure, but it was well worth it.

Le Parc maritime de Saint- Laurent

I was sweating in Quebec City in the morning, but I thanked my weather irrelevant packing choices for I was about to embark on a journey of epic proportions!

Yes, jeans and high-tops are handy when you walk through St. Lawrence  port  ruins.

Urban decay is amazing.

One slip and it was dowwwwnnnn.

Velvet denim jeans! The lighting was just perfect to capture the folds of my two sizes too big pair of jeans from The Gap. Note how androgynous my legs are in this photo- very A from Pretty Little Liars! Does anyone watch it? At the end of each episode, a figure (A) emerges and raises some hell for Aria, Spencer, Hannah and Emily- the four teen protagonists of the books-turn-hit TV series. Acronym A is always completely covered in gender-bending clothes e.g. black leather gloves.

I disembarked from my little adventure and kept exploring Le Parc Maritime’s grounds.
Alas, it was time to move on. The mosquitoes were kicking flying in.

Observation Tower

A bit more driving and I climbed up on an observational tower overlooking much of the island, some of the St. Lawrence River and the Appalachian Mountains in the distance. The candy-coloured sunset was breathtaking. I recommend viewing in full screen by clicking on the photos.

Note: If you browse down the first page of my blog, it now resembles more of a travel diary than a fashion blog. It’s not going to help that I’m going on a mini- vacation again this weekend! Prepare: there will be butterflies and there will be lots (LOTS) of falling water.
